2012 FINALIST: SOLAS (Supported Options in Lifestyle and Access Services Inc)

As a specialist mental health service provider SOLAS is managed by a long serving, passionate group of volunteer Board members who are committed to improving the lives of people with long term mental health conditions.

 

As a governing group, the SOLAS Board is responsible for the organisation's development and implementation of operational policies and procedures which ensure that the needs of service users remain paramount and positive achievements are both recognised and celebrated. The SOLAS Board has achieved this through an ongoing commitment to consultative and inclusive processes which allow its many stakeholders, including service users, family members, carers, staff and organisational members, to remain informed and able to contribute to service delivery and decision making processes at all levels.

 

The long term stability of the membership of SOLAS' Board has helped the organisation to maintain a consistent direction, ethos and commitment to excellence through staff training and development over time.
